It takes quite a long time for my Vortexbox to rip a cd. Typically 14 - 17 minutes to rip (at which point cd ejects), then a further 25 minutes or so to encode to flac + mp3 during which time further ripping cannot commence.


Is this likely to be purely due to the, admitedly, underpowered nature of my hardware or are there any tweeks/settings I could play with to improve performance?


CPU = 667mhz


1gb PC3200 DDR


CDRW = Teac DW224E((24X CD Read Speed) ide interface. (showing as a SCSI device in Vortexbox web GUI)
