Volume Normalization or Volume Leveling (Limiting) During Ripping Process

I searched for this topic but I wasn't able to find an answer. Is there any type of volume leveling or normalization applied during the Vortexbox CD ripping process? I just want to be sure that none is applied, and if it is being applied, can it be disabled? When I look at CD ripped using the Vortexbox process, Slimserver has lines indicating Volume Leveling and Album Volume Leveling (or similar).

Thanks in advance for a great product!!

Volume Normalization or Volume Leveling (Limiting) During Ripping Process

We are very careful NOT to apply any volume leveling to any files created by VortexBox. All files are loss-less and bit perfect. Volume leveling is the default for playback in Squeezebox Server. This can be disabled on a per player basis. But I find it works very well.

Hi, reviving an old thread instead of creating a new one....

Volume leveling is not applied but volume is analyzed and replay gain data is stored in the tag. Correct? Now, how can I choose to normalize the volume during playback through the vortexbox player without permanently leveling the original volume of the tracks? This is possible through the Logitech devices or other Network streamers, but I am using the Vortexbox appliance directly.

I am using Vortexbox Player through a Valab USB NOS DAC controlled via MPDroid or Squeezer.

    Found the solution:

While using Logitech Media Server App, in Settings --> Audio --> Volume.

From the VB web interface: Squeezebox Server --> Advanced --> Audio Settings --> Volume
