    Using Two Drives

Hello, great program first off! Love the simplicity. Question though, I installed VB on a 40GB drive and also have a 1.5 TB drive in the same machine. How do I add the existing movies, music, etc that are located on this 1.5TB drive to the music/mp3 folder without recopying everything (that obviously won't fit) to the drive where VB is installed? I have very little Linux experience, but do very well with directions. Does music that's associated with VB have to be on the same drive? I no longer have Windows on this machine either, fwiw. Thanks in advance for the help!

    Jeff

You can have two drive but you need to mount the new drive as /storage and set up a file strcture that is similar to the one used by VortexBox with /storage/musics etc. This is tricky to do if you don't know linux. I would copy my mp3 files off onto another system, remove, the 40 GIG drive, install VortexBox on the 1.5TB drive, and copy the mp3 files back.

Andrew, a question on the installer process.

on the main installer screen there are options for 2 disk 3 disk and maybe mirror (I forget exactly) but what exactly is the installer doining when its doing these different installs. Im a linux novice but but I can figure a lot of stuff out, but looking at trying to setup the most cost effective system versus the most flexible system it would help knowing how some of the instealler options break down and what goes where.

Oh I just found the cfg files so I guess I can go read up a bit on LVM stuff, but from the looks of things the last option (advanced) doesnt seem to do a format, is that so? even tho it says it does?

The options for 2 and 3 dissk merge all the disk togther into one partition. This is the best option if you have more than one drive. This will only work for SATA drives.
