Voyage MPD client possible?

Hi Experts!

I have a vortexbox running on my network. I now want to set up a separate client in my listening room. I found the voyage MPD starter-kit here (http://store.voyage.hk/KMPD2g.php?id=65) which seems to be what I want. The plan is:

vortexbox <- network -> Alix 3d2 (voyage MPD) <- usb -> rDAC -> amp.

I have mostly ripped CD's, but some hi-res music up to 24/96 which is supported by the rDAC. I know the rDAC talks to linux just fine as I currently plug it into the vortexbox directly.

If I want gapless FLAC and 24/96, what is the best software to connect the vortexbox to the Alix running Voyage MPD? I thought about squeezeslave, but I don't think that can handle 24/96? Can I run MPD server on vortexbox and client on the Alix?

Suggestions please?

This sounds like it will work. Just mount the VortexBox /storage partition onto the MPD box using NFS.
