The best option is to use USB sound cards such as this.

    One for each zone.

Can you please post the output of the command "aplay -L" here? You will need to use cryptoterm or putty if you are on a pc. You can use terminal on the mac. With this information, I may be able to assist you better in determining if we can use the soundcard that you have installed in the vortexbox or if you need to purchase a new pci/usb soundcard.

thanks for the answer, I thought to use the server with the logitech Android tablet with your application to handle the vortexbox squeezebox player.
in the configuration you can manage 5 vortexbox player or audio device can be increased?

I do the same thing here at my house. I have a vortexbox controlled thru the squeezebox app. I have multiple streams from 1 soundcard installed in the vortexbox. The limit on the Vortexbox Player configuration page is 5 players, but Andrew did mention in a different post that it can be increased. How many different streams did you need? Most of my clients use three or four distrubuted to 8 or 12 zones.
