Just another dumb newbie (me) question. Delete music

Have looked for the answer but I must be blind.
How do you delete albums from the Vortexbox? I can't find a way on the player or anywhere else.
    TIA

You have to do that from another computer on the network. You can only do that in the "files" music folder which is read/write. The folders that are not under "files" are read only.

Ok, I see that and have removed the problem CD. However, if, after I am comfortable with vortexbox, I sell this solution to my client, is there an easy way for them to do this without a service call involved. In other words, a user interface that is more customer intuitive?
    TIA

Other than removing the folder/files thru the //vortexbox/files/music/ directory, no, not at this time.

This is the most intuitive approach. Built-in file-managers like Windows Explorer, OS X's Finder, or GNU/Linux's Nautilus all support handling server files. In general, nothing needs to be installed on either the client or server.

Are you asking for a way to handle such files over the VB Web UI?

Yes, that would be the way I would like. Over the VB Web UI seems that it would make it easy for a customer to deal with.

I install Vortexboxes for clients like Rivey. (i see him on the RTI control system forums a lot) My customers also could benefit from an easier way to delete music.

In my mind the best way would be if just like when you choose a song there is a play, add to favorites and select command, there should be a delete!

This would allow the user to not only do it from the UI but this command could then be added to our control system, allowing the client to do this from the touchpanels and remotes they are already accustomed to using.

I don't think delete should be made so easy. It would be tragic to accidentally fumble on that key and lose a song. It would also be confused with the delete from playlist command that is in some apps.

That's a great idea. You should ask RTI for this feature. As Hifihere says just make sure there is a confirmation before the delete!

The delete command would have to implemented in the LMS software, and then a new 2 way driver released before it will work.
