    Win 7 SMB not working

I have searched and found others with this problem but can't find a fix.

On a Win 7/64 computer I can't see VB v2.0 as a network computer or SMB share. It does show as a media device only. I have followed the wiki instructions.

If I test it on an XP computer it works fine.

Hi, can't help with suggested solution, but as another datapoint, I can report that my VB v.2.0 shows up fine as a network computer and SMB share on my LAN via my laptop running Win7(64). So the problem is not affecting all win7 setups.... Hopefully others will have some technical answers to help....
    Location 1: VB Appliance 6TB (2.2) > LMS 7.7.2 > Transporter, Touch, Boom, Radio w/Battery (all ethernet)
    Location 2: VBA 3TB (2.2) > LMS 7.7.2 > Touch > Benchmark DAC I, Boom, Radio w/Battery (all ethernet except Radio)
    Office: Win7(64) > LMS 7.7.2 > SqueezePlay
    Spares:
    VBA 4TB, SB3, Touch (3), Radio (2), CONTROLLER
    Controllers:
iPhone (iPeng), iPad (iPengHD & SqueezePad), CONTROLLER, or SqueezePlay 7.7 on Win7(64) laptop

What version of Win 7 are you using? Mine is the Home version which has less networking capability and adjustments.

Is the Home version working for others?

IPv6 is NOT being used in any of my Win7 setups (three different networks, home, weekend place, and office)

I will look at trying to eliminate IPv6 but most of my searching points to NTLMv2 problems. This is not simple to change on the Home version.

I am not sure if I am ready to start hacking this Win 7 install if others are not having the same problem with the Home version.

are you saying that IPv6 is being used in your network? That's surprising. I do have IPv6 capability, but in all cases it shows as NOT CONNECTED because it is not being used.

I am not using IPv6 now either. It looks more and more like it is related to the security policy for NTLMv2. It might require a registry hack.

Am I the first person to use Win 7 Home and have no SMB sharing with VB?
