Question: Activate Sound Card + Attached more storage

Hi all,

Just setup a vortexbox on the E35m1-m with a M-Audio Delta66 sound card attached to it.

Got two questions to seek for your advise:-
1). How can I turn on all digital signal to my audio system ?

from the aplay -L, I have:

hdmi:CARD=Generic,DEV=0
HD-Audio Generic, HDMI 0
HDMI Audio Output

iec958:CARD=SB,DEV=0
HDA ATI SB, ALC887-VD Digital
IEC958 (S/PDIF) Digital Audio Output

iec958:CARD=M66,DEV=0
M Audio Delta 66, ICE1712 multi
IEC958 (S/PDIF) Digital Audio Output


in my config vortexbox, i have the following:-

in the audio devices, should I put in three entries:-

Name, Mac address, Audio Device, SoftVol
VortexBox xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx hw:0,3 (tick or untick)
VortexBox xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx hw:2,0 (tick or untick)
VortexBox xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx hw:1,0 (tick or untick)


And question two is:-
how can I add another 2TB internal SATA HD to the Storage folder, can it be done ?

I would use different names for your streams. It will be easier to distinguish them when playing back using LMS or the Squeezebox app on a tablet/phone.
You would untick the soft volume box when using the digital output. For the M Audio Delta 66 Digtal ouput you need to input iec958:CARD=M66,DEV=0 instead of hw:*,* into the audio device entry on the Vortexbox Player Configuration Page. If you want to add an additional hdd, I would suggest reinstalling with this method http://info.vortexbox.org/tiki-index...twodiskinstall. I would suggest this, because if you have any issues with the vortexbox, your media will be safe on another hdd, and then you can reinstall on the primary hdd in the system.
