    Vortexbox Soft Volume Checkbox

I can adjust the volume of the Vortexbox Player inside the LMS web interface using this. It works fine with Local internet radio. It does not work with Local media (Mp3's) or Pandora. It sounds like static when I turn it down and then I get a humming sound with Pandora or any local Mp3 playback. Is there a fix or a workaround? I have a client that needs this functionality. TIA

Did you enable software volume control in the VortexBox Player GUI?

Yes. It was kinda late last night. I noticed that it works with Local Internet radio, but not with ripped local content or Pandora Streaming. Any ideas from the Vortexbox GURU?

I am also using your asound.conf and ss_list.conf to split the outputs on the soundcard. The strange thing is that it only occurs on local streamed media, and pandora internet radio. All other sources work fine.. ie internet radio, and high bitrate streaming media from shoutcast.

Yes that asound.conf only works with some types of media and is not reliable.

I also tried on a fresh install of VB 2.0 and replicated the same issue with the stock asound.conf and ss_list.conf. Like I said before, its only using the LMS web interface to adjust the volume on pandora, and ripped mp3's or FLAC files.

How else did you test it? Have you tried some other scripts to get Pandora to stream through MPD? I know there're some plugins on github but I haven't experimented with the situation of interfacing with mpd+pandora+softvol.
