Thread: VB keeps ejecting discs

    VB keeps ejecting discs

For some reason my box has started to just reject disks? They were ripping just fine but now it keeps spitting them out. I've tried restarting and retarting the ripper but no joy.

    Any thoughts?

Post the contents of the ripper log file for the disks in question.

It doesn't actually give me one. THe last log was for the last successful rip. THe log doesn't show anything, it just spits it out within about 3 seconds

Upgrade your VB to the latest software, then power down your VB. Remove the power plug for 30 seconds. Reinsert the power plug, reboot, and try again.

Optical drives can sometimes get into a weird state. Completely removing power can reset them to sanity.

I'm already on V2.0 so shall i just try the power down and plug option?

Upgrade your software first. There have been many updates to VB 2.0.

    1. Login to your VortexBox; see How To Login to Your VortexBox.

    2. Stop the Auto Ripper. Enter
    Code:
    service vortexbox stop
    3. Put a CD into the VB optical drive.

    4. See if VortexBox recognizes the CD. Enter
    Code:
    cd-info
Report the output of this command in your next post.

    5. Restart the Auto Ripper. Enter
    Code:
    service vortexbox start
