Vortexbox system setup with Arcam rDac

Hi,

Hope someone can help, I got my new media server with vortexbox installed and have set it up on my network. I am using it with an Arcam rDac connected via usb to the server. So far i'm not able to get any audio from it at all.
Under 'configure vortexbox player' the dac shows up here so I assume its connected to it ok.
The media server shows up on the network fine and i've been able to add my music to it.
Also I've been tying to use MPDroid, first time round it connected to it and showed it was playing, but again no sound and now the app can't even connect to the server.
Any ideas what i'm doing wrong or suggestions to help sort it?

Your rDAC will probably have a ID number associated with it (probably 1) in the player config page. Change the setting in the Player config from Default to hw:1,0 (replace 1 with whatever if different). Submit and retry.

I had tried loads of combinations and there was still no sound.
Now for some reason there is nothing listed in the alsa device list, doesn't look good to me! Any ideas of how to get them back? Everything is still plugged in the same.

What does the ouput of "aplay -L" show you? Can you post a copy of it here?

Yes. This is what I mean. Have you tried a different USB port on the motherboard? It looks like alsa cannot find your Usb DAC.

I have tried all the usb ports, also I can't get any sound from the headphone socket either

So I have a little different configuration going on. I have a HRT Music Streamer + attached it show, and shows a 1, I input it in. Do I use the same MAC IP? and if so when I do I know only see the Name Given for the plughw:1,0 the headphone jack plug name for plughw:0,0 is no longer showing.

I would also if possible like to set up all the 3.5 plugs #1 speakers #2 headsets #3 S/PIDF , but don't know how. Any help would be great.
