boot issue after upgrade to vb2.0

I just upgrades to vb2.0 via iso and on first boot it seems my motherboard does not see the os on the ssd drive. If I select the Intel boot manager using f10 I can select the ssd drive and the system boots fine. If I swap the ssd and install vb1.10 the system boots automatically as intended. Any idea how to automatically boot with vb2.0?

What motherboard are you using? What SSD? What error messages?

Fedora 16 has problems booting on some hardware.

boot issue after upgrade to vb2.0

    MB >> http://www.logicsupply.com/pro...../d945gsejt
    SSD >> http://www.logicsupply.com/pro.....fdm84sqi4g
Error >> a bootable device has not been detected

The same device with vb1.10 works fine though...

    Thanks Ron!

You are using an Intel D945GSEJT board.

Does your machine have a hard drive with a GUID partition table? If so, you may have run into this issue:

Incorrect partition type assigned to /boot partition on GPT-labelled disks

I just read it, but I have no idea what needs to be done. BTW I have not mounted the the storage drive yet. I just want to try the OS before I move over to it.**

What BIOS version is on your motherboard?

    You can find this with

    yum install dmidecode

    dmidecode | more

the BIOS info is at the top.

A BIOS upgrade to the latest version may help with your boot problem.

Try reinstalling the VB 1.10 ISO and upgrading to VB 2.0 using the fast command-line upgrade procedure: http://info.vortexbox.org/tiki.....st+Upgrade.

Try setting the hard drive to AHCI on the BIOS. Solves a lot of these problems

boot issue after upgrade to vb2.0

I new about the AHCI setting, but that did not work with my IDE flash drive. I ended up ditching the IDE and loading the of on a spinning drive. BTW - the spinning drive needed the AHCI setting to auto boot.
    Thank you for you help!
