bittorrent app

Does anyone know how to use Vortexbox's bittorrent app? I can't seem to add anything to start a download.

Hmm, took me a while too!

Use google on your main PC to find the torrents you want. However, instead of clicking to download through your PC, right click and copy the link address (modify this action if you're running a Mac or Linux but you get the gist).

Open the Vortexbox GUI

Go into the Transmission app through the GUI

Click the "open" button

*

Paste the URL into the space that says "URL"

You should shortly see the torrent come up in the list and how the download is going

Or you can download the torrent file as usual.

Then click "open" to browse to and import the torrent file into Transmission.

There is also a Transmission Remote*GUI that is really easy to use.* Just install it on the computer*that you use for your browsing and it automatically loads it into Transmission on your VortexBox when you double click on the link in your browser; no cutting and pasting required.* There is a trivial setup that must be done to tell it the IP address of the Transmission (VortexBox) server and you are good to go.

Just Google "Transmission Remote" to find it.* I believe there are Windows, Linux and Mac version available.
