I'm trying to rip home video on Video TS files to my Vortexbox with no success. Any help much appreciated.

so if I am understanding you correctly you are trying to use the vortexbox to rip a home made video?

I don't think that will work. One way of finding out is if you* have a windows machine and try makemkv with that same disk.
