volume reduced on sound card outputs of vba after upgrade to 1.7

I had some trouble with the upgrade, but thought I had it all working. Everything functions properly, but I've had to crank my amplifiers to get appropriate volume levels. Is there a setting in squeezecenter or on the vortexbox I should check. I'm using all of the soundcard outputs.

Run alsamixer and raise the output levels on all the channels.

Thanks for your help. The master setting was at 50 and the individual channels were all at 100. I increased the master to 81. The volume went up, but I'm still not where I was prior to the update. There must be something else going on. I guess I can't rule out my amplifier.

You should be able to increase the master higher than 81. I have all levels set to 100 on my VortexBox.

Thanks. For some reason raising the level in to the red region seemed wrong to me. At 100 my volume is much better.

Doesn't distort with all mixer levels set to 100 on my VortexBox Appliance using VortexBox Player.
