Convert File Names to Windows compatible format

Hi Dear Vortexbox-Fans :-)


I recently tried the backup funcionality of vortex box. After completing the backup, I attached the USB HD to a windows pc and copy the flac files to the internal HD. Some files raise an error and it seems that windows had problems with some charcters (!, ?, &,...). Does any one nows the problem? Is there a possibility to configure vortexbox to save flac file names as "windows compatible"?

VortexBox does not put thouse characters in files names by default. Have you made any commnad line changes to your system?

I havent done anything. I have the following problem: There is a song (and a file), called "05_Brother,_Where_are_you?" And Windows have Problems with "?" or with ",".


What does Vortexbox do, if a Song is called "xxx,_xxx?". Does it transfer the special charaters?

No it removes the spacial caracters "xxx,_xxx?" becomes "xxx_xxx"
