bliss web gui

Just installed vortebox 1.4 inside a Vmware VM to test it. I've ripped some CD but no tags or cover art were added, so with the package manager I've installed BLISS but I do not find any link to access the BLISS gui and configure it. I've tried also typing http://vortexbox.ip.address:3220 but it doesn't work.


What can I do now?

Sounds like your vmware session dosn't have access to the internet.

my vmware session has access to the internet, if I login inside the vortexbox VM, and i ping http://www.vortexbox.org I see replies from 67.228.235.87

Testing the Internet connection, I pressed the START UPGRADE button and now vortexbox has been upgraded to version 1.5.


There's a new icon to configure the DAAP server, in the system configuration screen I see the services that are running but always nothing about bliss....no icons , no access through 3220 port and no tags/cover for some cd ripped (not for all, some of them get the tags/cover when they was ripped)

Sounds like you have access now. Can you rip a CD and see if you get the tags?

I've just verified that the vortexbox is connected to internet.


I've ripped a CD but I didn't obtain tags or cover.


I've verified that my CD is present in musicbrainz.


....strange. What do you think?

Not really sure. I have never had this problems before. I do all my testing in vmware though so it does work. I do have some strang problems with networking in vmware sometimes. A new install in a new session usually fixes this. Could be a problem with the CD drive I guess. If it can't get the ID from the CD it can't get the info.


Can you try VortexBox on a hardware box?

The CD ID to get the infos is present just on original cd or it's present in a burned copy too? I'm ripping copies of my cd....

The ID is only on the original. This is why it dosn't work.
