VortexBox on Fedora 13

VortexBox has been running on Fedora 11 for a while but there are some improvements in Fedora 13 so at some point we will need to upgrade. Not sure how we are going to do this as upgrading between versions of Fedora can be tricky.


I did manage to get VortexBox working on Fedora 13 as a clean install though. You can try it out if you want.


Consider this ALPHA quality but everything seems to work.

Not sure, I just built the ISO yesterday. I haven't tested it yet.

Can you elaborate a bit on the improvements? Faster startup? easier maintenance? less power consumption due to better graphics drivers?

Mostly just better compatibility with newer hardware.

Will this version be updated in the 'usual fashion' ? Keen to try but not desperately keen to keep reinstalling from scratch.

Yes once you have the F13 version installed you can use the updater to update it.

worked fine at first, now my squeezeboxes cant connect to my library anymore..

ok i rebooted my remote, squeezebox and VB, got it working, but when i select a


song from an album it plays a different song from that album :s
