    Syncing support for VortexBox Player

We now have sync support in VortexBox Player. You can sync VortexBox player to hardware players. Please help us test out this new feature. Update your VortexBox using the Update manager. Sync another player to VortexBox player and see if syncing works for you.

    Syncing support for VortexBox Player

Looks like sync works but the new version has trouble advancing to the next song. I'm going to pull the version for now. Look for an update later this week.

    Syncing support for VortexBox Player

Still have problems when synced with a hardware player — sound from VortexBox Player stops when advancing to a new track. Sound continues on the hardware player.

This happens for FLAC and mp3 albums, and also for last.fm and Pandora.

Manually hitting the "track advance" button on the SBS web GUI restores sound to VB Player.

    Syncing support for VortexBox Player

    Andrew

Just to let you know, all is now good with my set-up. I can sync my VBA with either, or both, of my other 2 hardware players.

Saying that, it was only recently that I lost the capability to do this. Even with squeezeslave, I could sync all my players. Anyway, what you did on the last update fixed my sync'ing issue with the VBA.

    Cheers,

    Linty

EDIT: - It was working..........for as bit! Now the VB player will occasionally stop advancing to the next track.

That'll teach me to open my mouth too soon.

You can press the advance button to get it to go to the next track. We are working on that problem.

    Syncing support for VortexBox Player

The Upgrade to mpd version 0.16-10 and vortexbox-player version 0.9-3 produce the following results on my VBA:

Plays flacs and Internet radio 32 kbps and 128 kbps.

    Will play flacs in sequence.

Allows sync’d play of VortexBox-Player and Logitech Duet Receiver, but the sync is off by much more than Squeezeslave. Squeezeslave sync is acceptable in my use and VortexBox-Player sync is not yet acceptable. With time, sync seems to get worse.

    This is an improvement.

I had been running squeezeslave. I stopped it and started VortexBox-Player.

The upgrade to mpd caused me to check if mpd was running with
service mpd status It was stopped.
    I issued service mpd start
You might want to check mpd.

    Thanks.

    20100514 UPDATE:
Sync of VortexBox-Player with Duet Recievers got MUCH WORSE, and VBP even made "noise" which was not in the music files.
