Both Jesus and the folks at PSAudio have confirmed that the DAC works with USB from a Linux server. PSAudio says that all that is required is Linux Kernel 3.2 and above and also the latest version...

Something that I should mention is that when I pull up alsamixer and press F6 to select my DAC, alsamixer bombs out to a command prompt.
