I have a vortex appliance which I can no longer find on my network. Working fine for three weeks.

1. Sonos can no longer find it

2. I can no longer pull up the GUI from either my PC nor my mac.

3. Yep – turned it off/on, ditto modem, changed cables etc.

4. Tried connecting to a different network – same problem.

Help please!

Try this. Connect a monitor to your VortexBox. Log in using the username and password on the letter you received with your VortexBox

type this

yum -y update

use_network.sh

reboot

see if this solves your problem.

I didn't receive any letter / username / password – in fact no documentation whatsoever with the appliance.

I've now been able to pull up the GUI on another network. Seems like gremlins at work.

I'll first try connecting to my network again.

Take a look around there was a welcome letter shipped with your appliance. The user name and password is root vortexbox.
