Hi VB community

I recently purchased a VBA and am very pleased with it.  To Andrew and those who have contributed to the project, thanks for your efforts.  As a new user who is not experienced with some of the tech aspects, it has been a bit of an adjustment – principally because consumers are not accustomed to hardware which has no UI – though once you get the fact that you can operate it just fine from another PC, basic operation is in fact, basic.

I note that some new users have expressed that it's not accessible for the general public.  One thing that I think would help new users, as well as relieving the burden of basic questions being repetitively asked on the forum, is a FAQ section, perhaps categorised as Basic, Intermediate and Advanced.  The existing doco is quite good, but I think that a good list of FAQs would add a lot of value, if I may suggest it.

Having searched the forum (unsuccessfully), I have a question!  I read on one of the threads that the principal music folder is read-only, so that a music collection cannot be inadvertently deleted.  Great, but I presume that there is a way to override this?  For instance, if your VBA runs out of space, you would want to perhaps delete some of the music you no longer want to listen to.  Can someone please advise how to delete music?

Thank you

Lynton

I good to hear you like your VortexBox. Both the new user guide and the FAQ cover your questions.

The folder which is read only is for the backups, I dont use it as I keep a complete copy on a removable drive (I actually have two copies).

This forums is also just for the vortexbox player, you would get more help if you used the help section.

The place where the music you want to play (FLAC directory) can be accessed from any PC using the network feature on the PC.  You can then delete add existing music, copy over artwork.  It will be just like another network drive.

The documentation Andrew pointed to will explain this a lot better.
