Hi All
I've noticed recently that Ron Olsen, Halfbit, JimG etc. haven't contributed to vortexbox a lot recently – Andrew – have you had any contact with them ?
Particularly Ron, he was heavily supporting the user community with his excellent and detailed support posts but hasn't made any posts for over a month now.
I know personally that I haven't contributed much recently, this is due to a declining interest in the project due to the 'user' experience particularly around feature requests, bug tracking, testing of releases etc., I wonder whether this reason has also been a factor for the other 'top posters'

Searches for information here and with Google frequently turn up helpful and complete answers by Ron Olsen. Ron seems to really understand, read the question completely, ask for related information to help troubleshoot, and sticks with a problem till it it fixed.
Maybe Ron is on vacation. I hope he returns. There is lots to learn in his postings. I can see why he would become frustrated and drop out.
Ron, if you are lurking out there, thank you, and please just check in so we know you are OK.

I suspect that we're seeing lower response through the summer as people are away from their computers enjoying their vacations.
Also, we're at a point with this project where there are fewer and fewer widespread persistent issues.
I'm sure this community will continue to be strong, and we'll support each other as new features / problems come on line.

Yes am hoping that Ron is on holiday and hasn't left the project, he has kept the user community going significantly and I think the project will suffer without him

Hello Andrew,
From posts a couple of months ago, it looks like Ron Olsen was working closely with you, adding features, solving problems, and he certainly assisted users and moved the VortexBox project forward.
Do you know if Ron is OK?
Will Ron be back on the VortexBox.org forum?
Thanks

The good news is that I have spotted Ron posting on the Squeezebox forum in the last few days, he seemed to have a long break from June to July so could well have been on holiday.
Andrew – have you had any contact ?

Just want to thank everyone for the kind words and let you know that I'm OK — just taking a break from VortexBox support for the summer. As Andrew can attest, it's a LOT of work.
Another factor is that I'm using an iPad for most of my web browsing now, and I can't make VortexBox forum posts with it. Evidently the Simplepress forum software isn't iPad compatible.
Also, I've been just enjoying listening to music lately — my VortexBox Appliance is working great as are all of my Squeezeboxes. And my new Sonus Faber speakers are a treat!
I'll try to help answer questions when I can, but I can't promise the level of support I was providing earlier this year — too many other fun things to do right now.

Hi Ron
Great to hear you are well, I too have been listening to more music recently rather then looking at the server, I bought some Sennheiser HD650 headphones and have them hooked up to my SB Boom, sound is amazing and thats without a dedicated headphone amp (saving up for)
Cheers

Hi Ron
I would just like to add my appreciation for everything you've done for this project and express my thanks for the help you've given me personally, mostly without you even being aware of it!
Very glad to hear you're well and enjoying life.
All the best.
Ken
