Is it possible, without major brain damage, to add album cover artwork to Squeeze Server 7.4.1 when VortexBox hasn't added it automatically?

yes you can rescan your library. This may pick up art that is there but squeezecenter doesn't know about. You can also download load cover art from the net and put it in the folder with your music. Just rename it to cover.jpg.

I have a photo scanner and thus replaced the "cover.jpg" file- and rescanning- that worked a treat.

 I use the 'Find Cover Art' plugin within Squeezecenter which is good also
