I did the yum update after power cycling the VBA and it seemed to complete successfully.  The update required 63 minutes.

I do not understand how to interpret much of the above.  I checked VortexBox System Information, and see that Distro Name remains Fedora release 10 (Cambridge).  I had expected that to be updated to release 11 which I understand some of the backup code depends upon.  I do not feel comfortable continuing to the BETA without some advice on what I may have missed or what to do next.

Hi Andrew,

So what does 0.9 offer?

I see it will have a USB disk format tool?

What other things?

I am guessing additional features in the  web interface.

Cheers,

James

There is a tool to mirror FLAC files as mp3. There is also a USB disk backup tool.

When complete, my VBA reports Fedora 10.  Shouldn't it have updated to Fedora 11 to work with the BETA?

What to do?

If you have Fedora 10 you have an old version of VortexBox. Follow these instructions to upgrade.

http://vortexbox.org/2009/06/v…..-upgrades/

if this doesn't work you may need to rebuild your box from scratch.

OK, I did as you directed.  I am presented with:

rm: remove regular file `/etc/yum.repos.d/fedora-old.repo'?

I do not know how to respond, because as I have stated, I am not familiar with

Linux or Linux procedures.  I am VERY dissapointed in the cryptic instructions

and the lack of foresight that this might happen.

How do I answer to preserve function of the VBA system I purchased from you?

HalfBit, This seems like a VortexBox support issue. I'll e-mail you about this.
