Update Improvement ?

Hi There,


Been using vortex box a little while and have been playing with it since 03 - I like the updates and new functionality, so thats great.


However last time i updated, and i guess probably this time too, the config files are destroyed by the update....A script to copy them before and copy them back afterwards would probably be a great help to everyone....is that posible in yum ???


I guess the basic slimserver & cd-ripping configs would be a minimum...and yes i'me sure at some point it may break, but certainly not reconfiguring every time would be nice !


What do you think ???

hmm... config files should be preserved during an upgrade. I'll check into this it could be a bug.

Hi Andrew,


The bit i noticed is that i set my SB's to sync, power on and off in a group and also the title format....I don't know if the latest update lost them but certainly 3 -> 4 did.

Yes I have been trying to get better at preserving configurations during upgrades. Your right I think during some upgrades it resets the configs.
