I am a novice, but seriously considering buying a VBA. I have several questions:

1. Can I connect a VBA to my HIFI system directly, or do I have to have a device like a Squeezebox reciever & controler?

2. If I do not need to buy a squeezebox device,:

a) How do I control the VBA? Ie chose what to play etc?

b) Can I control the VBA using the IPeng app for the Iphone?

3. Is the 'Blackfriday' coupon still working?

Thankshttp://vortexbox.org/wp-content/forum-smileys/sf-confused.gif

1. using a SqueezeBox is the best. It works very well for all media including streaming radio.

2. You do not need to buy a SqueezeBox you can play directlly from the VortexBox analog audio out. You can also get a USB to sPDIF converter if you want digital out. This works great for CDs ripped to FLAC files but some media formats and some streaming radio sataions won't work.

2a. Web interface, iPeng (for you ipiod touch), or the squeeze controller

2b yes

3. no.

Andrew supplies the product, but it does have output suitable for HiFi.

1) http://vortexbox.org/documenta.....ic-system/ (http://vortexbox.org/documentation/low-cost-home-theater-and-music-system/)

2) see above, can also use the Logitech controller (Duet or Touch)

a) Look at the Logitech software screens and info

b) Yes, can be used instead of Logitech hardware

3)No idea

Does this help?
