Hi I am trying to install the latest 0.7 on a system that was running 0.6.
I miss posted this to the wrong forum.
0.7 seems to hang following the format and adding folder to the hd.
I then tried installing 0.6 this install with the same hardware.
With 0.7, add the timezone, add the password and then it formats the hd and gets are far as 'downloading fedore core packages' when it crashes.
Any suggestions for a solution to the problem?
I tried this on a Toshiba laptop with a 60Gb drive and the 0.7 install fell over at Vortexbox-0.7-1.586.install.rpm could not be found.
Your fedback on this would very welcome.
Many thanks,
James

I'm having this problem too. I thought that it might be the fault of the CD that I burned. I haven't had much luck installing from a usb-stick either. I can get the iso onto the usb drive using livecd-tools, but I get stuck when the installer looks for the kickstart file. Any clue as to how to work around that one?

I am glad, I am not alone! The current solution is looking like install 0.6 and rebuild using the 0.7 script. I am testing in a box I have. Lets hope it works!
I love the bundle, I like how easy it is to install on 0.6. Adding new hard drives is a minor pain and changing RIP settings it seems to ignore values for flac and faac at the moment.
Cheers,
James

OK...the fix was simple: use a different CD drive. When I swapped in an old ATA drive for the SATA drive I was trying to use, the install went off without a hitch.

Hi, I am already using a ATA drive. I tried it on two different machines, each had the same problem loading the files but at different points. I have seen other people with post that have also had a problem. I downloaded the update and that installed over 0.6 which went in fine.
Confused, I am.

I installed bot 6 and 7 on the same hardware, ATA DVD with 2 HDD (one smaller 80GB ATA and a big 1TB SATA with the 2 drive option, both seemed to install fine, but the 7 didnt give me a graphical location and password screen, text only - maybe as I had no mouse attached.
Otherwise it all went fine. Hardware is a Intel atom board D945GCLF2 board... I have another setup I am testing with same MOBO but slim SATA DVD with SATA HDD, that one is still on 6 as I am now travelling for a couple of weeks and dont have it with me.
